Early Colt M1877 "Thunderer", .41 LC  "Sheriff's Model"
The M1877 was Colt's first attempt at a double-action cartridge revolver and it is to this day one of the most popular Colts among collectors. There are three variants of this model, the .32 "Rainmaker", the .38 "Lightning", and the .41 "Thunderer". Only the "Thunderer", in serial numbers below 107,000 is classified as antique in Canada. ​​
This specimen is in very good condition, its action is crisp and accurate. The bluing is thin, and most of it has turned a brown patina. The grips are worn, but free of cracks or missing chips. The markings are light, but visible. The Colt logo on the grips is recognizable. The bore is shiny, with good rifling, but does show some pitting and bumps. 4 1/2 inch barrel, Manufactured in 1879. SN#10462, rated very good overall.
