RARE 6-inch Colt M1877 "Thunderer", .41 LC
The M1877 was Colt's first attempt at a double-action cartridge revolver and it is to this day one of the most popular Colts among collectors. There are three variants of this model, the .32 "Rainmaker", the .38 "Lightning", and the .41 "Thunderer". Only the "Thunderer", in serial numbers below 107,000 is classified as antique in Canada. ​​
This specimen is in very good to fine condition, its action is crisp and accurate. The bore is shiny, with very good rifling. 70% nickel on the frame and barrel, a little less on the cylinder. It has a rare 6-inch barrel, the etched panel is just barely visible, and the markings are clear. Manufactured in 1888. The grips show moderate wear and bleaching from the sun, but there are no cracks and no missing chips. SN#72189, rated fine overall.
