Hopkins & Allen "Dictator"
This is a typical "Suicide Special" from the 1880's. Made by Hopkins & Allen, successors to Bacon Arms, H&A were well known for their fine guns. Their first "Dictator" was a percussion revolver based on Bacon's design of 1867, but they soon switched to making cartridge guns. This one is in very good condition, with about 50% original nickel plating. Most of the wear is to the cylinder and some to the right side of the gun. It is chambered for the .32 rf long cartridge, the action functions properly and the cylinder indexes with a small amount of play. The bore is clean, but not rifled. The grips are very good, with mostly original varnish intact. SN 2879, rated very good overall.
